Bon Jour Roman

Escaping Lyon, throttling the car as fast as it could carry us we soon arrived in the bends and turns of the hilly Ardèche. Never will driving be as much fun as it is here, tackling the endless bends and cranking through the gears is enough to warm any city drivers soul.

Later that day we arrived at our final destination. Through the country roads we drove to the house of remote surroundings. A most excellent friend and host offered his abode for us to enjoy what France is really about, …

Lost of Love Lyon

Excitedly we left for France’s second biggest city, Lyon, a trip cobbled together in the last moments as pre arranged plans gushed away without prior warning.  Cruising in a Citron C3 towards to the city felt so right and as we happened on to the streets of the inner city we were greeted with a magnificent sight of the cathedral, known as the Notre-Dame de Fourvière Basilica, which was purchased on top of the hill presiding over Lyon’s town centre in the valley.

Swine flu is something that I have wanted to post about since I it first reared its ugly little head. The more I read the less I’m interested, the more it’s hyped the less I care, for some reason I feel like I’m the only person who thinks this way. Motorways and what not. I sir, sit here on a jammed motorway for little reason than over crowding, poor drivers and unnecessary speed restrictions.
I’m on my back from Bristol to London travelling some 120 miles and for once I have sat my sorry arse on a packed bus, which is sweltering in the only way a British bus could. And as I watch the constant gaggle of cars amassing around our coach. I conclude as I have done countless times before that people really don’t know how to drive …

Being out in New York for the first time reminds me of the first time I went to Universal Studios. Landing with excitement of a kid in line for the ET ride, I saw the Manhattan skyline in the distance, a scene that greets a great many visitors.
An impressive and familiar sight, something that NYC felt to me the whole time. Every corner you weaved, every street you crossed brought a sense deja vu. I guess our elicit diet of American culture has driven the city so deep into our …

More men have stepped on the moon than imprinted their soles at the deepest depths of the earths Ocean. Why has humanity been staring at the heavens when the worlds most important resource surrounds the land we stand on. In this TED talk Sylvia Earle quotes the Poet Auden, “Thousands have lived without love. None without water” and goes talks with precision and humility about the enormity of the problem we all face. 97% of the Earth’s surface is covered in water and for the past millennium and in particular …

haunting words from the film “Man On Wire” a film that truly makes you believe the title of this post is not as crazy as it first seems. This film takes you on the adventure, where dreams and ambition are the only important thing, and the dedication to this cause will send you though impossible. This reminds me of the quote that so inspired me I had it inscribed on the back of my iPod.
“The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into …
