The riots in London and subsequently across England seemingly sprang from nowhere and certainly seemed to catch everyone off guard; especially the powers that be, who took time to mobilise and crush the rebellion riots. There are many musings about what started the riots of August 2011 and I’m sure you have your own opinions, but this post isn’t about the start of the riots, it’s more to with the aftermath. More specifically I want to focus on civil liberties. Fixing society is a whole other issue and some of the rhetoric coming from politicians’ posterings at the moment seems ...

Image via Wikipedia Microsoft are reported to be pursuing the strategy of Apple and branding/controlling the environment in which they sell in, by opening up Microsoft flagship stores. Now while the internet is buzzing with this revelation, which comes after they hired Walmart sensation, David Porter, who no doubt was brought in to help mastermind this venture; I am left wondering what a branded store will do to Microsoft’s image. Sure Apple stores with all their funk and minimalistic layout, which is carbon copied no matter which Apple store you are in the world, are pleasing environments to wonder in ...

I spend countless hours travelling on trains and pounding the streets of England. Mainly in and around London, where I’m sure the problem is amplified. But England really is full of rubbish, everywhere I see small mounds of trash. It makes you wonder where the respect for the country, nature and others has gone. It is one of my pet hates and to that extent I can’t honestly ever remember a time where I purposely threw litter on the floor. Unless I take into account when walking in woods and discarding of an apple core. Surely the little problem is ...

running around downtown london today, I thought it would be wise to pop my head into a few highly fashionable and usually very expensive boutiques. It soon became very apparent that I really don’t need anything and the sales seem to be a way for expensive places to claw money out of me. I still maintain I will spend money, because i’m buying into the whole buy quality while it is at normal clothes prices but actually it is the most stupid time to buy. Another thing I noticed that people seem to be even ruder when shopping in the ...
