The Kite Runner a üReview

Being holiday affords much time away from distractions of the day to day, this holiday has been no different. I read The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini in less than 4 days, days which I happily devoted to the story of Amir and Hassan.

The story set in Afganistan, tells of a friendship two boys growing up at the time of the fall of the monarchy. Where their world turns upside down and inside out. War breaks out and two boys have to come grips with their backgrounds and fate laced futures.

A modern day story of trust, honour, tragedy and despair; where the character’s come of age and nations change, giving you a glimpse of Afganistan.

Probably one of the best books I read in a long time, well written, engaging and twisting. Highly recommended. I won’t spoil it by saying more.
