One Political Agenda
It’s 2010 and recently I’ve been thinking more about what seems like a shift in foreign policy and global politics. I love conspiracy theories, from aliens to JFK, the Beatles to 911. This post largely will centre around the theory that we are slowly entering a 5 state ruling political system. 1984, great book, great author and an interesting social commentary on what might come to pass. Extreme as 1984 is, the book worked so well because I could immerse myself in the belief that this isn’t too far removed from the truth. From an anthropological stance, a regime that suppresses behaviour to such an extent is fascinating.
How does this all fit in to where we are right now? War against global terrorism, meltdown of the global financial crisis, climate change, aid in Africa, are all areas that the world are uniting with decisions being made on a global scale. The formation of free trade areas, kicked off custom unions, common markets and the more importantly economic and monetary unions has been a cause or affect of globalisation. We have by the very nature of our ‘western’ industrial revolution created a world that is tightly geared upon the need of cooperation of trade and now political decision. May I just say that Neoliberalism operating in many economic regions has not always been to the benefit of the masses and has often broken systems as much as it aided wealth creation; another post needed perhaps.
The biggest political experiment of my lifetime so far; and possibly a major green light for harmonised political and governing power has been the creation of the European Union and now that of a President of Europe whom resides over some 300 million citizens. I am by no means against a united Europe and fully embrace the possibilities that it offers, I do however find it incredible the speed in which this has happened and how now looking back at the pass decade how our leaders are being asked to combat things on a global scale. Extrapolate what has happened in Europe since the end of the second world war and combine with the current global politics and united front. To me you are left with further unity and harmonisation of economic trade areas, which naturally will become unions that have federal political structures feeding into a single chair, where decisions will be made about the lives of 100s of millions.
This will in my opinion will segment the world into 5 slices, North America, South America, Europe (+Russia), Africa, Asia (+Australasia). 5 slices with 5 political systems, brought together by some sexy name like the G5. What will this mean for us the pawns in the game? will it be like 1984? will we ever reach a single world government? does the world end as a communist state only to break apart again? is history just repeating itself and like the Egyptians and Romans we are doomed to failure? or is something more sinister going on, as all of those bloggers suggest? Who knows! What is clear, we as citizens should be vigilant as to our continuously eroding privacy laws and how much information the state (some would say google as well) collect and centralise on us. We are humans, we have been given the ability to think, to communicate, and the freedom to be who we are. Don’t let your government take that away from you in the name of pseudo fear, question their every move. One political agenda or not, I was born free, I’d like to die that way to.

Quite interesting observation on the globalisation with few rational points…
One has to love conspiracy theories. This adds more fuel to the fire I suspect than answers any questions. Very interesting read though regardless. I think people tend to forget though the positive's governments and unionised areas such as the EU do, such as the redistribution of wealth etc. although this can sometimes be questionable but it is definitely in evidence. I think most of the troubles in the future will come from battles over natural resources and the ownership of these diminishing resources. From a recent visit to Germany, some countries seem to powering ahead in order to make themselves less reliant on such foreign resources such as gas, oil etc. Perhaps avoiding future conflicts? For the first time witnessing fields of solar fields where grain was once harvested and now electricity is was really a big eye opener for me. Ok think I've gone slightly off topic here. Nice post!!
Scary stuff! One world government! Politicians are just the puppets in this though, it's the men behind them we should be watching out for….
