On A Diet And Hungry!

It’s Friday night and I have decided to pass on the alcohol for a while and last week I started my get over New York a Wedding and previously being a little unhealthy diet. It was when I was clothes shopping I realised I had gone up a jean size, so now plan to beat the weight off get back to fitting comfortably into 32″.

I hear about all these people on content diets and boy would I never want to be one of those people. My diet is consisting of reducing calories in by making sensible food choices and a few days a week eating a fruit lunch. Now, I admit I am eating a lot of fruit at lunch time and I reckon in sheer volumes it is much more than if I ate a sandwich at the good turkish, located a two minute walk from the office. The main problem with this diet is I have no idea if I am taking in less calories (though almost certainly taking in less fats), the other problem is the sugar rush of sensationalism to a crash and hungry burn when it is all over. I seem to remember doing this before and similar symptoms were present, I have a feeling that this a temporary state and once you get over the hump you get more elation and less deflation.

Tonight I feel particularly hungry and today I ate a lot of fruit and a tiny evening meal. Now wished I had a whole pizza to inhale… but alas I will battle on for my quest and roll past the end of week blues.

I’m not sure of the whole point of this post other than to have a quick moan about how “hungry” I am, I use the word “hungry” advisedly as I unlike millions of others (see Somalia’s Food Scandal) am in taking less calories than my body is used to but I am most definitely not starving. So really this diet, while healthy and will let me not go without, similarly makes me reflect on the sad reality of life on earth, that many will be going without. Thousands again will starve to death today because of lack of food. So a diet is a diet, those that moan should have no cause, and those with no cause should support food programmes for those in desperate need. Now if only the World Food Programme didn’t loose so much trust and respect earlier this week.
