Politicians are a rare breed in society, with no other profession quite being able to match it in both power and influence. They are minor celebraties with director level stategic jobs, though it could be argued that really that PR for their office, nothing more and nothing less.

In answer to why they get it wrong so much of the time, is that they are all things above! A machine that mixes popularism with strategy and often without an indepth understanding of subject matter. Like small business owners they are a jack of all trades, knowing much about nothing, yet thinking of their feet, taking advice and using instincs to get to the other side.

Much can be learned from this expenses con. Being on the take, shows that many of the honorable folks have missed the moral mark. Why? Clearly a disconnect to reality doesn’t help nor does thinking that they are above the law. But ultimately I really do think they have no idea what they are doing! Such flippent disregard of tax payers money is disgraceful! and is a massive PR failure in extreme…. Wait, isn’t that what there job is anyway. Oh, s***t now what are they and we suppose to do!

This adds more weight to my 6 year theory and the who polices the police debate also. Another blog for another time.
