a canceled train forced my to walk back to London Bridge from Farringdon today. I’m telling you this not because that is interesting but rather wanted to describe the disintegration of my body while doing so.
A 25 minute walk turned into a battle of wills, with my mind concentrated on the destination, a mindset forced by the pace of the London streets, while my body tore shreds off itself. Starting with the muscles in my back the pain traveled south with every foot step. Eventually, leaving me with gritted teeth to plod past the finish line.
This is however a magnificent walk, which I have documented in a previous post and probably will do so again in the future. Particular highlights for me, are passing St Pauls, crossing the river on what I think is the only dedicated pedestrian footbridge for the Themes and finally the walk along past the Roundhouse. Nice to see this area made so assessable for people.
The moral of the story, even when in pain you can still enjoy the much forgotten journey.
