The Weight of Water – Picture of the week 4

Taken in South Korea’s Jeju island this picture sums up the entire holiday, both exquisite and exiting. I’ve touched a few times on the importance of water in some of my posts, but never does preservation of the environment become more apparent more desperate and more important when you visit somewhere of such natural beauty. Cheju (Jesu) is a wondrous place and am very sure it will appear in subsequent pictures of the week.

For all its charm and chic, Berlin could not fight the piecing cold, leaving the streets emptier than I have ever seen, and those that did brave the weather, scurrying along to the nearest cafe, of which there are plenty.
This image is taken right where the Palast der Republik stood, soon to be …

Classical music is nothing to cough at, it is often seen as a serious affair, with many dressing for the occasion. On Friday I went the Royal Festival Hall, London, to see Daniel Barenboim and the Berlin Staatskapelle. The performance of Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto was wonderfully sublime, whereas the critically successful performance of Schoenberg’s symphonic poem Pelleas und Melisande was not to my liking. But this post isn’t about reviewing the music, as I am no expert in this field and review by ‘professionals’ can be seen in related …

The Sitting – Picture of the week 2

A new week and a new picture, exciting times for us all. There are a few going up this week while I catch up but it’s all good. This was taken in a friends flat (who wrote this post) in Bristol on a warmer day than it is today. That’s me on the right if you care, or can’t be bothered to use google. No more to say on this other than surfing that weekend was awesome fun, despite being blinded by the rain.
